Nice drawing of one of the more uniquely-styled Can-Am cars. I have a print of this car the Road & Track put out at the time.

I'm curious about the missing L&M branding?

Thanks.
About your question, that is a good one. This car raced when I was in high school and I remember it well. I had several photos on my computer that I referenced to do this drawing that I believe were quite recent. I have since deleted those photos and can't remember where I got them. Until you asked the question about the L&M branding I had forgotten about that. The photos that I had did not have those sponsorship letters and I wonder if that has anything to do with the cigarette companies being banned from advertising and therefore the letters might have been removed. I don't know but I do appreciate you asking me.

I saw a modern pic on Google of a T260 in a collection sans the L&M logos. Probably related to the ban in contemporary motorsport, which is sad.

Hi JD,
I wrote out a note to you about my thoughts on this but some how it was not sent.
When you asked about the L$M logo on the Lola I had forgotten about this aspect of the history of this car. I was in High School when the Can-Am was in its glory and I watched Jackie Stewart race this car on TV. When I drew the Lola I had some photo references and the cigarette sponsorship must have been removed. I realized with your question that it never registered with me that there were a lack of sponsorship on the car.
Thank you.

No worries! I didn't mean for the question to take away from your work. I was mainly curious if it was based off an old testing photo or something. :)

No, and that is how I took it.
Thanks for the heads up on that. I appreciate it.
